ORMOND BEACH, FLA. ? Kansas University senior Gabriella DiMarco shot a first-round score of 80 (8-over) Wednesday, and is tied for 23rd place in the 89th annual South Atlantic Women’s Amateur Championship at Oceanside Golf and Country Club.
Minami Levonowich joined DiMarco as the other representative from the KU women’s golf team, and carded an 87 (15-over) to put her in a tie for 62nd place.
DiMarco, Levonowich and 80 others will try to catch up to Louisville’s Katie Mitchell, who leads the tournament after coming into the clubhouse with a round of 69 (3-under).
